Brother Larry Hayes, OFM, is a native of Mineola, Long Island, New York, and was drawn to religious life from his childhood. He graduated from Regis High School in Manhattan, and then from Columbia University and Harvard University Law School. After working for several years, he joined the Franciscans in in 1983 and made his solemn profession in 1988. Following his ordination in 1989 he ministered in a number of multicultural parish ministries, most recently in Silver Spring, MD, Durham, NC, and New York City. In 2014, he was elected Vicar Provincial of the former Holy Name Province and Secretary of Formation and Studies. In 2023 he became the first Provincial Minister of the new Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe and is currently based in Atlanta, GA.
