Announcing a new publication from New City Press: Saint Francis and the Problem of Possessions - Francis of Assisi Spiritual Practices
Edited by award-winning spiritual writer Jon Sweeney, this is the second volume in the new Spiritual Practices of St. Francis series which aims to present excerpts from the Early Documents organized around different themes. This book presents four different dimensions of Franciscan practices around material possessions, with six reflections per topic. Sweeney provides a brief introduction giving the background for each passage, then the passage itself, followed by a series of discussion questions. This book could certainly be used for formation for friars, Franciscan sisters, and Seculars Franciscans, as well as anyone in learning about the message of the Franciscan tradition for today.
Dominic V. Monti, OFM, is a Franciscan Friar of Holy Name Province (USA) and currently professor of Franciscan Research in the Franciscan Institute of St. Bonaventure University.
