  13. The editors hope that after the publication of the three volumes, Francis of Assisi: Early Documents, a translation of Bartholomew's work will be undertaken since it is one of the most important—and more neglected—texts of the Franciscan tradition.
  14. This decision was not followed in the text of The Sacred Exchange between Saint Francis and Lady Poverty (hereafter ScEx). While following the critical edition of Stefano Brufani in the translation of the work, the manner of numbering the text adopted by Brufani is considerably different from that of the editors of the Quaracchi edition followed in the Corpus des Sources Franciscaines.
